Juvenile Goldcrest?

This question is answered

I've never seen a young Goldcrest and I'm hoping the large eye means it is a youngster.

When I snapped this one I noticed the eye but it doesn't have any sort of crest.

and then later it landed in a bad spot for a bit of preening.

all the photos I managed...

  • I agree Alan, looks a youngster and signs there's a bit of a gape still - see what the experts think.

Failing the emergence of an"expert" who I think have all deserted us in despair, it looks good to me as a juvie GC. Minimal signs of a crest and a general "fluffy" look seems pretty conclusive.

  • Surely in that last but one photo there is a sign of the crest Alan, lovely photos of the little bird anyway, well captured I would say.
