Snow bunting -Laura Bimson

Wednesday, 17 February 2016

Owing to the gardens being unexpectedly closed our walk was changed to Otterpool Park and promenade. The weather was very wet and only 2 membres were onthe walk plus two no nmembiers for the Merseyside biobank http://www.merseysidebiobank.org.uk/

22 bird species seen: Mistle thrush, blue & great tit, blackbird, herring gull, wood pigeon, mallard, kestrel, crow, chaffinch, black headed gull, common gull, gt spotted woodpecker, robin, goldfinch, jay, redshank, cormorant, greenfinch, bullfinch, oystercatcher, song thrush.

None today, but a few yrs ago we had 2 very accommodating snow buntings on the promenade.

Good deed for the day was our party removing a large amount of fishing line with hooks from a bush on the promenade. Well done guys
