Wild New Forest talk. Marcus Ward has studied intensively the woodland specialists such as firecrest, hawfinch, lesser spotted woodpecker and is a co-founder of the survey organisation called Wild New Forest so he is the idea lperson to tell us more about this wonderful area.

FIELD TRIP - Prior Park City Walk

Location: Prior Park Landscape Garden, Bath

A guided walk with our leader Lucy Delve with target birds of peregrine, kingfisher raven and birdsong. We will meet in the centre of Bath and walk up to Prior Park as there is no parking there.

Join our leader Lucy Delve for a saunter across the Lansdown Battlefield area. The targets for the day will be farmland birds, wheatear and red kite. Lucy is always able to find you birds by sound even if they appear elusive on the day - but we hope they won't. This meeting will finish around 14.0 0.

John Martin works for Natural England as a Vascular Plant specialist and has very wide natural history interest: from recording local birds, moths and dragonflies to the immense diversity of wildlife to be found in the fifth largest country in the world. INDOOR MEETING - Birdwatching in the 4th Dimension - Dr Daniel Field

FIELD TRIP - Portland Bill, Dorset

Location: Portland Bill Dorset

Joint coach trip with the Bath Natural History Society
Booking essential. Our leaders for this day will be Bryan Cook and Tony Cook.
Our target birds will be those of the sea, hopefully guillemot, razorbill, fulmar and summer migrants.
The coach will leave Avon Street Car park at 08.00 with other pick up points which will be detailed on the booking form. We anticipate being back in Bath for 18.00

FIELD TRIP - Slimbridge, Frampton on Severn and Highnam Woods RSPB Reserve

Location: Firstly, Slimbridge for a morning walk and search for breeding waders - OS 162, Explorer OL14, GR 723 047
then on to Frampton on Severn in the afternoon meeting close to the car park on the road to the sailing club OS 162, Explorer OL14 GR 747 075 and then at 19.00

A first visit as a group to this relatively new site at WWT Steart Marshes in Somerset. Robert Hargreaves will lead this trip and our target birds will be wildfowl, waders, passerines and raptors and to familiarise ourselves with this reserve which is receiving excellent reviews.
