Changes to Printed Programme -- PLEASE NOTE

Please note that the trip to Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve in April has been moved to the 30th April, and will now take the form of a coach trip so please support that. Nightingales should be singing at this attractive reserve which has excellent visitor facilities.

Please also note that the June walk to Hawkwood lead by Geoff Coad will take place on Saturday 17th June, not the 18th as printed. Other details remain the same.

REMINDER -- Local Group Talk -- Hope for Malta's Birds-- by Robin Potts -- Wed.11th January 2017

Robin Potts outlines the extent and nature of illegal shooting and trapping of migrating birds through Malta and the efforts Birdlife Malta are making to combat these practices sometimes at great risk to themselves.

BirdLife Malta is the oldest environmental organisation in Malta. What started as a small ornithological society for the study and the protection of birds and their habitats in 1962 has today grown to be the largest eNGO in the Maltese Islands. Today they manage 4 nature reserves, have succeeded in limiting illegal hunting in Malta, run an annual nationwide school education programme, and manage several EU LIFE-funded scientific studies about Malta's seabirds.
