Report and bird list for Coach Trip to Abberton Reservoir, 11.11.17

Report and bird list for Coach Trip to Abberton Reservoir, 11.11.17

Despite a less than fortuitous start, what with drizzle and the closure of the Embankment necessitating a last minute change of pick up point to the other side of the Thames, 30 of us enjoyed a great day's birding at the Essex Wildlife Trust's Abberton Nature Reserve.

Fortunately the weather cleared up and by the afternoon we got to enjoy both blue skies and sunshine enabling us to really appreciate the waterfowl, most of which were now in smart breeding plumage. Highlights of the day though have to be the two Great White Egrets and for some lucky people, a Dartford Warbler.

See the attached PDF for a full list of the species seen by the Group.
