Even as we assembled in the car park migrating swallows flew around overhead and 3 jays flew from tree to tree.

Walking along the external path at Beddington, the first thing we saw was a fox trotting along ahead of us.

Once inside we saw a wealth of waterbirds, including seven duck species. Various birds of prey flew over, usually being chased by a group of carrion crows.

Altogether, we saw 43 species of birds and heard another six, and a good time was had by all.
