Our 2017 - 18 season is well under way

Our new season of meetings and field trips started with a field trip to Little Orme and RSPB Conwy reserve, then our first indoor meeting on September 20th had a lively talk by David Winnard with stunning photos of birds from all round the UK.

We have our usual varied monthly schedule of high-quality speakers sharing their top-quality photographs with us plus quite a few field trips through the year.

Details are gradually appearing on our events page. Please bear with us, while our publicity officer finds time to add the rest of the programme.

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings, which start at 7.30 p.m. and the admission charge this year is still £2.00 for Chester Group members and £4.00 for non-members (refreshments included). Annual membership stays the same, at £6 waged, £10 family or £5 concessionary.

Please note that field trips may have to be changed or cancelled at very short notice, e.g. due to weather or ground conditions. It is therefore essential that you always phone the trip leader a few days before the trip, to book onto the trip and check the final details. If the trip leader does not know you are coming, they cannot let you know of any last-minute changes to the trip.

There is normally a meeting point in or around Chester, but sometimes we meet at the reserve, if it's not far away, so it's important to ask the leader exactly where to meet and when. Don't feel left out if you don't have a car, as we can usually arrange for another member to give you a lift.

For all the trips, we recommend stout footwear, and appropriate outdoor clothing for the prevailing weather. Many of the trips will last well into the afternoon, so you may want to bring a packed lunch and something to drink. If you'd like to know more, please get in touch with us via the 'Contact Us' page.
