During a 'birding meander' one of our members has reported that. after stopping off at Lunan bay (where he saw velvet and common scoter, razorbills, red-throated diver, great crested and a single slavonian grebe and a scaup) he headed for Montrose Basin and happened upon a Ross's goose while scoping through around 160 pinkfoot in a stubble field - "wonderful deep neck feathering and the amount of black on the underwing primary tips was beautifully defined". The photo was taken through a scope on 70X mag.

Pine marten in the Carse of Gowrie

Two of our members living near Errol in the Carse of Gowrie were surprised to get up one morning to see a pine marten helping itself at their bird feeding station. Their trail camera has now recorded the animal several more times so it looks as though it is resident and making regular visits.
