Lesser yellowlegs in Montrose

One of our members spotted a lesser yellowlegs at Maryton Steps near the Lurgies. The message went out by mobile and several other nearby members quickly joined him. One sent this report: "At the steps we found four other bird watchers already there. The great white egret had been seen earlier, and the lesser yellowlegs had just moved out of sight. However it returned a short while later, and we got relatively good views of it poking about on the mud, feet looking extremely large caked in mud. A redhead smew was also spotted in the distance in the other direction towards the Wildlife Centre, amongst a flock of goldeneye."
