Hume's Leaf Warbler

Hume's Leaf Warbler

Over the Christmas/New Year period, Sedley Underdown spotted a rare visitor in Horseshoe Plantation, identifying it by its call as a Hume's leaf warbler. This bird's usual habitat is the mountain forests of central Asia.

A couple of days later, David Jode confirmed the sighting.

David writes " this species was first recorded in Britain at Horseshoe Plantation in 1966 and has since been recorded in Sussex only five or six times, always in November or December".
