Rottingdean Midweek Walk

Cliffs and seabird colony at RSPB Fowlsheugh nature reserve

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

Due to bad weather and a strong onshore wind, only a brave few turned out for this walk. Birds seen through rain and sea spray were oystercatcher, pied wagtail, rock pipit, starling, meadow pipit, carrion crow, jackdaw, cormorant, black headed and herring gull. The highlight was perhaps a mug of tea at the half way point. Still it was a pleasant aperitif for the informal Xmas lunch at Peacehaven carvery that followed, besides a break from Xmas shopping.
