This was a weekend car-share trip to Welney, Hunstanton, Titchwell and Cley.
As usual, a highlight at WWT Welney was the whooper swans.
Whilst at RSPB Titchwell highlights included snipe, curlew, egrets and black tailed godwit.
At Cley, pink footed and brent geese were present in very large numbers. Spooked by a marsh harrier, they created quite a spectacle when taking off all at once. Large numbers of teal and wigeon were also present, but a special highlight was a distant view of a red-throated diver on the sea.
The very good-value hotel provide excellent dinners, full English breakfasts and packed lunches all of which added to the pleasure of the sites visited. Overall, the nine members had a very rewarding weekend, in unseasonably good weather.
