March and April News

On Friday March 6th we are delighted to welcome John Britten to The Settlement to give a talk entitled: The Galapagos - a Wildlife Experience. You can guess what he is talking about! On Sunday March 15th we have a coach trip to Dungeness RSPB in Kent, where we will be looking for water birds including black-necked and slavonian grebes, before spending time near the power station looking for early migrants such as wheatear, firecrest and black redstart.

We welcome John Buckingham to The Settlement on Friday April 3rd to talk about the birds of Heath, Moor and Mountains. On Sunday April 19th we are running a joint trip with RSPB Stevenage Local Group to Rye Harbour, on the South Coast. Passage migrants and summer visitors should feature strongly at this attractive reserve. To find out how to book, see the Events page.

Our programme of spring walks gets under way in late April with a walk round Oughtonhead Common. This has been provisionally arranged for Sunday April 26th: when confirmed, an entry will be made on the Events page.
