22 April - Swallow and displaying Curlews and Lapwings. Peak View Tea Rooms, Buxton Road. David Tolliday.

22 April - Green Hairstreak butterflies (lots) - Cut Thorn Hill. David Tolliday

21 April - Lapwings (2) - Flying in Congleton, close to The Plough (pub). Laura Howard

20 and 22 April - Pied Flycatcher (male) - Woodland near Lyme Park West Gate. Gordon Eckersley

19 April 8am - Greenshank, Common Tern, Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpipers (lots) - Tittesworth. David Collis

19 April - Some lovely bird song at Danes Moss - Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler, Teal.
Spring butterflies - Brimstone, Orange Tip, peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Speckled Wood.

18 April - Mixed Thrushes (60+) - Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve - Tina Hanak

18 April 10am to 1pm - 'Walk with Nature' - Northwich Flashes - 41 species seen and/or heard, in particular:
avocet, blackcap, black-tailed godwit, buzzard, chiffchaff, curlew, gadwall, great-crested grebe, jay, oystercatcher, reed bunting, reed warbler, shelduck, shoveler, teal, whimbrel, willow warbler. Alan Brereton

17 April An unusually large number of brimstone butterflies (approx. 30) seen the last four weeks,most spotted on the Middlewood Way,between Bollington and Higher Poynton. Richard and Vivienne Arnold

16 April 8am to 10.30am - 'Walk with Nature' - Danes Moss Cheshire Wildlife Trust Reserve - 29 species seen and/or heard, in particular: blackcap, bullfinch, chiffchaff, coal tit, goldfinch, great spotted woodpecker, lapwing, reed bunting, song thrush, swallow, teal, treecreeper, willow warbler. 9 April - Little Gulls (6) - Mere Farm Quarry, Chelford. All adults, the birds were on and over the East Pool which is best viewed from the public footpath on the south side of the quarry. Steve Barber

First male redstart back on Kerridge Hill today. Had my first pied flycatcher yesterday in the woods below Curbar Edge in Derbyshire. I love this time of the year!
