November Bird of the Month - Shorelark

November Bird of the Month - Shorelark

Sexes are similar with mainly white underparts, buff streaks on the flanks and a striking black breast band. The head is yellow with a black band through the eye and ear coverts and a black fore-crown, which in summer plumage extends backwards to form two projecting horns. The flight call is a thin pipit-like 'see-seer'.

Reculver is a favoured local haunt of this lovely lark so join our walk there on Sunday 12th November to maximise your chance of seeing one.
