The Constant Effort Ringing at Stanwick Lakes has just finished for 2019 and suggests mixed fortunes for the birds around the study area. The reedbed specialists appear to have had a relatively poor breeding season since the flooding of the reedbed in June, which presumably resulted in many of the nests being washed away. In contrast, the tits have had a very productive breeding season, with the highest catches to date. However, the star was probably the juvenile female sparrowhawk caught in August, during the penultimate ringing session.
