Places to see birds

Wanstead Park

RSPB Coombes Valley reserve, path through bluebell wood

This green space has been lovingly preserved as a public park by the Corporation of London for the past 126 years. The park contains varied habitat and a number of water features. At the Ornamental Water Herons can often be seen, a remnant of the famous heronry here at the turn of the century. This is a delightful area in the spring when bluebells are in flower and many of the migrant birds can be heard.

How to get there:
Wanstead Underground Station on the Central Line is a few minutes walk from the park and several buses run through Wanstead High Street.
