2020 BIRDWATCHING CRUISE DATES AND DETAILS.

SAILING TIMES FOR 2020 ARE AS FOLLOWS...

IMPORTANT FURTHER INFORMATION-please read.

-please arrive at least 30 minutes before the departure time {see above}, which is governed by the tide.
-the above times may vary by a few minutes due to weather and tide conditions on the day.
-we are unable to wait for latecomers.
-please allow plenty of time to reach the departure point {Boston Marina} as Bostons traffic conditions can
be heavy and unpredictable!
-please wear appropriate clothing for the trip.Weather conditions can be changeable during the cruise.
-The Boston Lock Café on the quayside is open for refreshments before and after cruises {please note that
The Lock Cafe will be CLOSED ON MONDAY 29th JUNE 2020}.
-the Boston Belle is not suitable for people with severe mobility issues.

-in the event that the RSPB South Lincs Group must cancel a cruise due to unforeseen circumstances {eg
weather conditions} all customers will have the option of re-booking on another date ,or a full refund.
-customers receive a full refund if a booking is cancelled more than 28 days before a cruise,on condition that
the tickets are able to be resold by the ticket agency.
-no refunds are available for cancellations made by the customer within 28 days of the cruise date.

-on our cruises we get up close to the birds and in 2019 we saw over 108 species, averaging about 64 per
cruise.
seals are seen on most cruises on the exposed mud banks, especially on the river Welland.
birds seen include turnstone,plovers,dunlin,knott,godwits,redshank,egret,eider,raptors,kingfisher,gannet
etc.. Please see elsewhere on our website for individual cruise sightings.
- each cruise is lead by local RSPB guides who will help with bird identification and point out local places of
interest.

-each cruise lasts about four and a half to five hours,depending on weather and tide conditions.
--we board the boat at Boston Marina,the Sluice Bridge on the river Witham {PE21 9JU}. This is the starting
point for the cruise.
-the river level is subject to change and beyond our control. Consequently the angle and height of the step from the quay to the boat is also liable to change.
- after negotiating the lockgate we travel down the Haven and into The Wash for a mile or so {depending on weather and tide conditions} before entering and travelling along the river Welland before returning to Boston Marina.

-we meet outside the Lock Keepers Office on Witham Bank East {Boston}.This is less than 50 metres from where Fydell Street A1137 and the railway both cross the river Witham at the Sluice Bridge.
-the marinas postcode is PE21 9JU .A long stay pay and display carpark is located about 5 minutes walk from the marina at Tunnard Street {PE21 6PL}.

-the Boston Belle is well equipped with indoor lounge and outdoor seating and is equipped with safety equipment.
-refreshments are available from the galley including hot and cold drinks,snacks,hot sausage and bacon baps.. There is a toilet on board.
