January morning walk around Clyne Gardens

January morning walk around Clyne Gardens

Sunday, 13 January 2019

The small group of five set off from Blackpill after scanning the full tide shoreline for anything spectacular but there were only the oystercatchers and gulls to be seen. The entrance to Clyne Gardens was quite busy with some common woodland birds - robin, wren, tits, blackbird, goldfinch and nuthatch. Unfortunately as we walked further into the Gardens fewer birds were seen. We looked hard to spot a goldcrest (see photo) but only a coal tit acting like a goldcrest was seen. A GS woodpecker was the only bird of note for the rest of the morning.
