Nightingale Festival - creative writing workshop with Nicola Schofield - Event Cancelled

Saturday 4 May

2.30 pm - 4.30 pm

Price: £40 per person

Booking essential

Sorry, this event has been cancelled.

As part of our Nightingale Festival and supported by Horsham District Year of Culture 2019, we'll be joined by playwright Nicola Schofield to celebrate the role that inspirational women have had in conservation.

Nicola is an award-winning writer who has won a Bruntwood Prize and written for TV and Theatre. She is co-founder of Highlight Collective whose productions include FLIGHT inspired by RSPB founder Emily Williamson and AFTER BIRTH, a multi art-form collaboration on maternal mental health.

This workshop will be an introduction to playwriting and will take inspiration from the RSPB founders and any other wildlife heroines or heroes that participants wish to write about. The workshop will look at finding the inspiration to write - often just starting is the hardest part - creating characters and writing monologues.

This two hour workshop will be an accessible introduction to playwriting. Participants do not have to share work, unless they want to, the emphasis is on having fun, having a go at writing and by the end you will all have written your first piece of drama.

Time: 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm

Cost: £40 per person (includes tea, coffee and home-baked scone with jam and cream)

Booking is essential - please call the Visitor Centre on 01798 875851 between 10 am and 4 pm.
