Nightjars are mysterious birds, and over the years have been given many strange local names - Goatsucker and Fern Owl, to name but two. Whatever you call them, they're great! Spend two hours on the heath on a warm summer evening (we hope!), to hear their eerie song and hopefully glimpse this nocturnal migrant as it drifts over the heath, as well as enjoy some of the other wildlife that uses the reserve. We will provide you with a hot drink and light refreshments to help you on your journey home

People thinking of attending should wear stout footwear and be prepared for wet, uneven  ground. Please dress appropriately for the weather.  Biting insects may be present. Children Under the age of  16 need to be accompanied by an adult. The Reserve does not have facilities and the ground is not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs. No Dogs please.

We have another Nightjar walk at our Hazeley Heath Reserve which is being held on Saturday 15 June 2019. Please go to RSPB Hazeley Heath Website for details about booking
