Midweek Walk - Rivelin Valley

Coal tit perched on bramble bush

Wednesday, 13 January 2016

Despite the cool temperature, we started our walk in good spirits. We were delighted to see Great Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit and Nuthatch on a feeder in the car park.

On our way down the valley, we had good views of Long-tailed Tit, Dipper, Treecreeper and Grey Heron. Some of us were also privileged to glimpse Siskin, Goldcrest and Kingfisher.

At Hind Wheel, we decided to turn back up the valley and added Redwing, Starling and Black-headed Gull to our list. We finished in bright sunshine. What a great start to our new year walks!
